Luminary Ceremony |
|
At our luminary
ceremony, candles are placed in luminary bags that are purchased in
the names of cancer victims. The luminary bags outline the Relay Track
and the ceremony is held after dark to honor cancer survivors and to
remember those who have lost their battle against cancer. This is a
very touching and meaningful ceremony as you see family members
lighting candles in memory and honor of their loved ones. Last year we
prepared the highest number of luminary bags in Person County's Relay
history, lighting over 5,000 candles in glowing tribute to those
touched by cancer. |

Have you lost someone you love to cancer?
Do you know someone who is fighting cancer, or is there someone you
would like to thank for his or her support during your fight?
If so, let your light shine at the American Cancer Society’s Relay
For Life, a team event to fight cancer.
For a minimum donation of $10, we will light luminaries in honor,
memory or in prayer of your friend or family member at 9 p.m. on
Friday, September 29th, at Person High School.
Your luminaries will be placed around the track and will burn
throughout the night lighting the way towards a cure for cancer.
Your name and that of your honoree(s) will be printed in our Relay
For Life program.
